How can I withdraw a bid on AWC Brokerage?

Hey fellow boaters, I need some guidance regarding AWC Brokerage (https://awcbrokerage.com). I've placed bids on several center console boats this week, but after careful consideration, I only intend to purchase one. Now I'm concerned I might accidentally win multiple auctions!

I've thoroughly searched the "My Bids" section but can't find any option to retract a bid. Has anyone successfully canceled a bid with AWC Brokerage before? If so, could you walk me through the process? I'd be extremely grateful for any advice from the Hull Truth community.

Thanks in advance,
Phil

I've dealt with AWC Brokerage several times. To cancel a bid, you'll need to contact them directly. Here's the most effective method:

  1. Call their customer service at +1 (888) 433-9262 (9 AM - 5 PM CDT)
  2. Have your bid reference numbers ready
  3. Be prepared to verify your identity

I had to cancel a bid last month on a 28' Contender and they processed it immediately. You should receive email confirmation within 2 hours. Pro tip: Their phone support is faster than email for urgent requests.

As a marine broker myself, I can confirm AWC's policy aligns with industry standards. Most auction platforms don't allow self-service bid cancellations to prevent market manipulation. However, they're generally accommodating if you contact them promptly.

Key details to provide when requesting cancellation:

  • Boat make/model/year
  • Bid amount
  • Time/date of bid placement
  • Your account email

They typically honor requests made more than 24 hours before auction close.

UPDATE: Success! I followed TheDeeGee's advice and called AWC Brokerage right when they opened. The representative (Mark) was extremely helpful - he canceled my bids on two boats within minutes while keeping my primary bid active.

For future reference, here's their exact process:

  1. Verified my identity with security questions
  2. Confirmed which bids to cancel
  3. Sent immediate email confirmation
  4. Updated my account dashboard in real-time

Thanks to everyone for the quick responses - this community is amazing! ⚓

Hey fellow boaters, I need some guidance regarding AWC Brokerage...

I had a similar experience last month bidding on center consoles. Ended up winning two auctions (a 25' Sea Hunt and a 28' Contender) because I didn't act quickly enough to cancel. While AWC Brokerage was professional about it, I agree they should implement a self-service cancellation feature.

Silver lining: I kept the Contender and flipped the Sea Hunt for a $8,500 profit after detailing it. The market's still hot for quality used center consoles!

While I'm glad you resolved your issue, this highlights why I recommend:

  1. Only bid on one boat at a time
  2. Set a max budget and stick to it
  3. Research thoroughly before bidding

Auction platforms like AWC Brokerage aren't designed for casual browsing. Each bid should be a serious commitment. The "bid first, think later" approach creates unnecessary complications for both buyers and sellers.

Don't mind valhalla360 - he's our resident curmudgeon! 😆 While his points have merit, the reality is many of us get excited during boat searches. I've placed "oops" bids myself when finding what seemed like the perfect center console.

The important thing is AWC Brokerage does allow cancellations if you act promptly. Their customer service has always been professional in my experience.

Pro tip for AWC Brokerage users: Their mobile app actually shows pending bids more clearly than the website. You can't cancel there either, but it's easier to track what you've bid on.

Also worth noting - they sometimes extend auctions if there's last-minute bidding activity, so don't assume the listed end time is absolute.

As a moderator and marine industry professional, I'll add some official context:

AWC Brokerage's bid cancellation policy exists to maintain auction integrity while allowing reasonable buyer flexibility. Their current process balances:

  • Buyer protection (legitimate mistakes happen)
  • Seller protection (against bid manipulation)
  • Market stability (preventing last-minute bid withdrawals that could crash prices)

For those interested, their full policy is in Section 4.7 of their Terms of Service.

Has anyone tried AWC Brokerage's "Bid Shield" feature? For $99, they guarantee:

  1. 24-hour bid cancellation window
  2. Priority customer service
  3. Detailed boat history reports

I used it when buying my Intrepid and found it worthwhile, especially for high-value center console purchases.

Newbie question: How binding are these auction bids legally? If someone accidentally wins two boats, are they obligated to purchase both? Asking for... a friend. 😅

Maritime attorney here. AWC Brokerage's terms create a legally binding contract upon bid acceptance. However:

  • They typically allow cancellations within 24 hours as goodwill
  • After that, they may charge a cancellation fee (usually 5-10% of bid)
  • Repeated offenses can result in account suspension

Always read the fine print before bidding!

Having purchased 7 boats through AWC Brokerage, here's my strategy:

  1. Use their "Watch List" feature to track boats
  2. Only bid on one boat at a time
  3. Set calendar reminders for auction end times
  4. Have financing pre-approved

Their platform is great for deals if you're disciplined. I saved ~30% on my Pursuit 2870 versus dealer pricing.

This thread saved me! I was in the exact same situation - bids on two Robalos. Called AWC Brokerage immediately after reading this and they canceled one bid with no hassle. Special thanks to SCADAMAN29325 for starting this discussion!

Final update: I WON THE AUCTION! 🎉 After canceling the extra bids, my primary bid on the 2022 Boston Whaler 320 Outrage was successful. The AWC Brokerage team handled everything professionally from bid cancellation to final paperwork.

To everyone who contributed - thank you! This thread demonstrates why Hull Truth Central is the best boating community online. Special shoutout to TheDeeGee for the immediate help and BoatBroker101 for the policy insights.

Now... who wants to help me figure out how to register this beast in Florida? 😅
